Holidays in the Cotswold Lakes

As a family of four, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Minety Lake. The house was spotless with all equipment needed for a comfortable stay. We were very impressed with the air fryer!
The Lower Mill Estate is very well kept and a quiet holiday destination. We ordered a take away pizza from the pizza shack, and even though very expensive, the food was tasty! We also used the inside pool, which was very clean and well kept. During our stay, we visited Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold and Oxford, and all three destinations were very accessible from the estate. We particularly liked the roof set up as the hot tub was private in comparison to nearby properties. The communication by Orion holidays was excellent throughout and even though not used, there was a 24/7 phone line. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to others and we would have no hesitation to return here again.

Very enjoyable and relaxing stay with family… accommodation was clean and comfortable, providing everything we needed. Outdoor pool was great hit with grandson, warm and clean. The lakes and surrounding walks superb.

The property was excellent. Clean, spacious and well positioned on the site. The site itself was lovely. Hot tub was a great addition.

A birthday trip to enjoy water-skiing, wake-boarding, rifle shooting and a lovely meal with family. Stunning location, fabulous facilities and a whole bunch of wonderful memories.

My family and I have recently staid at 5 Waters Edge Cotswold Water Park. The lodge was clean and kitchen fully stocked with utensils. The decor was good for a rental property as sometimes rentals can look tired, Our stay was comfortable no complaints. Orion helped us with any requests I would use them again. Thank you.

The property was excellent, it had everything we needed and was in a beautiful location beside the lake. It was great having a secure decking area for our dog and plenty of grounds to walk around. We used the tennis courts several times and used our SUPs and kayak on Windrush lake which was an easy walk from the property with our kit. The property had everything we needed for cooking and all rooms were clean and comfortable. A great property overall.

First time at the lakes and will definitely be returning. Fab location. Orion staff really helpful when we realised we hadn’t packed our own life jackets for use on lake with own equipment. Site is well looked after and clean. Walking routes to other areas and lakes. Would recommend a stay here for anyone who hasn’t been.

We spent a long weekend here with a group of 8 and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The house was spacious enough that no one felt cramped, yet cozy enough to feel like we were all together. Bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped (we made a big breakfast each morning without running out of pans or plates), and there were plenty of areas to relax, both indoors and out.

The location was unbeatable — right on the edge of the lake, with stunning views from sunrise to sunset. We spent the days kayaking, paddle boarding and just sitting by the water with a coffee or a glass of wine. In the evenings, we gathered around the hot tub, grilled dinner, and watched the stars.

What really made it special was how peaceful and private it felt. Even with a large group, there was room for quiet moments — a morning walk along, reading on the deck, or just listening to the water.

If you’re looking for a place to unwind, laugh, and enjoy nature with a group of friends or family, this is the perfect spot. We’re already talking about coming back next year!

Our 3rd time in the Cotswolds and it never disappoints. The Landings is one of the best houses we’ve stayed in – really spacious and everything you need inside, as well as a fabulous decking area that got the sun all day and well into the evening. The hot tub was great and maintained every day. Both Orion and the owner of the property were excellent. Would fully recommend this property & Orion to all my friends & family!

Accommodation was very clean and well equipped. The site had a decent restaurant and a fabulous spa. Going mid week and out of season meant we got the swimming pool to ourselves! Facilities like tennis courts were well maintained. We headed out to see some local towns and villages. Loved Cirencester – great shopping with many independent shops.
Orion were easy to work with so booking, arrival and departure were seamless.

Really enjoyed our stay at Cotswold Water Park the 4 bed House was lovely, felt very comfortable, clean and furnished to a good standard, exactly what we wanted,very well equipped , with a great deck overlooking the lake ,all with furniture and a bbq . Would be very happy to stay in the same property again. Grounds are beautifully kept and everything was within easy reach. Thank you .

We had the most wonderful time on the Orion holiday. The house was great and really adaptable for our family. There was just everything we needed. There are so many activities in the area. Cycling, canoeing, swimming in the three pools, wildlife.

Really great house for a family holiday. We were very happy here for our weekend with lots for people to do. The spa was great, lovely pool even though it was a bit busy. Lovely dog walks from the door and the hot tub was very popular with us.

6 adults of varying ages and 3 children, aged 6, 9 and 10 all had a fabulous holiday. The accommodation far better than average including nice little touches like spa robes. It was spacious, clean, modern and well designed. All enjoyed the paddle boarding and some of the party went wakeboarding, as well as the Aquaventure and sculpture park, which was excellent and very close. Some of us did bike rides and beautiful walks all within easy access. The youngest child loved the indoor and outdoor pool. Perfect situation for exploring the western Cotswolds. Hope to return

We booked the property for a 3 night family get together and it proved to be the perfect choice. We were 7 adults and 2 children and the property provided everything we needed in spacious surroundings with a great outlook over the lake. We would definitely return to this property.

Well equipped property with stunning views over the lake. The hot tub was an absolute winner with everyone especially at night with the changing coloured lights.

Perfect to switch off, stunning grounds, beautiful accommodation in a peaceful setting within a stones throw of great family activities, restaurants and tons of space for exploring by bike or walking with our dog. There is a small paddling beach on site and a doggy swim area. Absolutely the best way to spend quality time with loved ones. At home luxury available, including private chef and spa treatments. The booking team are super helpful and there is a site app to help you make the best of your time. Will definitely be back

This is our third visit to 66 Windrush Sunkissed lodge and it was still as good as ever. Everything you would need for a week away is catered for. The south facing decking area is great to sit out on and the hot tub is an extra bonus. It is a great base to visit lots of beautiful places and nearby pubs. Staff at Orion were again extremely helpful, making our stay that even more relaxing any enjoyable.We hope to again return next year. Thanks to Orion and the owners of the Lodge.

Beautiful place and a fantastic weekend stay, the house was amazing! we loved the hot tub and loft room. very comfortable, warm and included 2 welcome packs for the dogs as well as tea and coffee, biscuits etc. loved it and will definitely stay again!

Can’t rate Orion holidays highly enough. Beautiful setting and they always there to help or give advice – thoroughly recommend.

The house is equipped with all the facilities you will need for you and your family to have a perfect stay. The bedrooms are gorgeous and the beds are super comfortable so you are guaranteed a good nights sleep. The back garden has a hot tub and plenty of seating for at least 8. The site itself has a spa with 3 pools including an inside and outside pool. Tennis courts, playground, restaurant and a bar. This place really has it all.
The local supermarkets (Tesco and Aldi) are also only 12 minutes away so if you do want to do your own catering then this is easy to do.

Our 4th stay in an Orion hot tub lakeside property and they never ever disappoint! Green Haven offers a luxurious property in a perfect location, within a v private part of the Lower Mill Estate. Roof terrace has sun all day long, with plenty seating options and v private hot tub.
The house has everything and more you would need for a long stay..we were there 10 days and wish could have stayed longer. Air con in the bedrooms was an unexpected and v welcome bonus during a heatwave. The Lower Mill Estate is lovely, and has outdoor pool to myself on 2 separate occasions…bliss.
Plenty to do in the area ..recommend Bakers Arms in Somerford Keynes & Greyhound Inn in Siddington. Loads of great running trails and plenty kayaking or paddle boarding. Our boys also took part in nearby air rifling which they loved. We’ll definitely be back…highly recommended.

The beds were very comfortable and equipment excellent. We particularly liked the hot tub with the wonderful view over the lake, the ducks and Swans!

What can we say? We have stayed at Isis lake for at least 15 times and this must be the best lodge we’ve stayed in. Fantastic location, super clean and everything you could need for a break/holiday.

It’s ideal for a family.  There are two bathrooms. It is also quiet but with access to all kinds of facilities nearby from water sports to walking and cycling. “We stayed in number 87 for a week. It was wonderful; very relaxing, just what we needed. The house was very comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. The scrabble even had a pen and paper! Loved the Bluetooth speaker table. My husband enjoyed fishing every day and I was happy to read, crochet, listen to music, enjoy the view and walk the dog – plenty of places to walk locally. Isis Lake is well situated for trips to Bath, Cheltenham, Oxford and of course the whole of the Cotswolds. Close by there is a very good selection of pubs and eateries. “The property is set in a very peaceful gated estate which was impeccably clean. There are good free activities on-site, including a children’s playground, tennis courts, table tennis & an indoor area with 2 pool tables & table football. There is free fishing on site (mixed course, carp & fly fishing).  Five mins walk is a lake with kayaking, canoeing & stand up paddle boards. We also visited the nearby Cotswold County Park & Beach for the Aqua adventure session – brilliant! “

This beautiful upside down house had everything our family could possibly need. Being a dog friendly property there was a stair gate, and even a ball and treats for the dog. The highlight for me had to be unwinding in the hot tub on the decking overlooking the beautiful lake.  The house is located within yards of the spa, restaurant and pizza hut plus children’s playground & tennis courts.

The biggest thank you especially after saying yes to re homing our 3rd spaniel last September was thank you to the owners for allowing 3 dogs!!!  I didn’t think we would ever be able to book again with 3 dogs so this was just wonderful and the little dog bags was a really lovely touch and much appreciated.  Thank you for all your help once again , wouldn’t book with anyone else!!

We were looking for a property for 15 people. The Cotswolds waterpark was perfect; we chose two houses opposite each other. The teenagers stayed in one and the adults in the other! At night we would come together in the comfortable surroundings of one house and eat lovely food and just be together

We were a party of six adults and two children, celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary and this was a great house to spend it in. The accommodation is excellent and it was very clean and well equipped as well as being comfortably warm for the whole weekend. We all wished we’d been able to stay longer as there is a lot to explore but hopefully can return at some time in the future for a longer stay.

We booked this property as a last minute decision to have a short break with the family to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have wished for anything better. The location of the property, the facilities, the view from the decking, the friendly and professional approach during the booking – all were absolutely excellent. We would certainly return and definitely recommend.

Had a wonderful stay at Mill Village 70, Horse Shoe. The view was the best thing, changing all the time with beautiful an sunrises and sunsets and lots of different birdlife to watch. The cottage was warm and comfortable despite the weather doing its winter worst for much of the time. Well equipped kitchen, fast Wifi, comfortable bed. Everything I needed to make my stay a complete pleasure.

We had a really wonderful stay. We were two families and were a bit worried that it was going to feel small for us but it was actually a really good size. The terrace is amazing and we’d love to come back in the summer to fully enjoy it. We found lots of lovely things to do nearby and it was great not having to take the car everywhere.

Location was perfect! Central on the estate so 30 sec walk to spa, gym, restaurant. Stunning views over the lake. Beautiful property. Visit from staff when we arrived just to check everything was ok was appreciated. Will definitely return to lower mill estate.

The house is in a quiet location on the lake and feels very private. All the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and are comfortable with tranquil decor.
As a large group we never run out of glasses, crockery etc. the kitchen has everything you could possibly need for a self catering break – it’s better equipped than my kitchen at home!
The Orion team are helpful and deliver excellent customer service year on year.
We love our breaks here and continue to return.

Perfect for outdoor people…lots of walking trails, cycling, watersports.  Property was clean, well equipped and comfy.  Love the fact dogs had to be kept on lead in the park and around the lakes!

We stayed for a long weekend and the property and found it well equipped, comfortable and a perfect configuration for our group.

A bunch of good friends from our village had a fabulous weekend away. We were all really impressed with how well equipped the house was. We had a fabulous relaxing break and enjoyed the local amenities and the hot tub. Orion’s customer service was excellent when the fridge/freezer stopped working and they sourced temporary alternatives.

This is a lovely house with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It was really clean and well stocked. The views across the lake are gorgeous and there were good paths around the site.

We used the table tennis table, pool tables and tennis courts – there was a nice looking playground for younger visitors. Had to ring Orion help line once during the stay and go the answer I needed quickly which was great.

Lovely location and a lovely property really clean and spacious and in a good spot. Loved it! We would definitely go back.

We had a lovely week at the Landings 19, everything needed in a home from home was provided. It was a family get together and the accommodation was spacious. Kev, the owner, made himself available and gave some good recommendations on local pubs and places to visit. This was our second stay at the Water Park and we will definitely return again.

Excellent location & beautiful accommodation. Had a celebration for my mother’s 80th birthday. Three generations stayed at the house and had a lovely time. House is suitable for 8 adults plus two teenager’s in bunk beds. Beautiful views over the lake & peaceful location. We were lucky that the weather was stunning for April too. So the hot tub was used!

The house was well presented and comfortable. The unimpeded view over the lake, complete with resident heron and other wildlife added to the charm of the location.

Perfect for our family needs. Plenty of space and dog friendly. Access to gym and swimming pool a bonus.

From the moment we booked, the professionalism of Orion holidays was amazing. Just before we arrived we were told our holiday home was ready well in advance of the expected arrival time, which was fabulous.  My son in laws and grandson enjoyed the fishing on Isis lake. There was plenty to do for the young and not so young. There was lots of information in the house about walks in the area, which we did every day. The cleanliness and equipment in the house felt like home from home. We will definitely return very soon. Would most definitely recommend 😀😀

We stayed at this gorgeous house for a family weekend to celebrate my mums 75th birthday. We had family aged from 18 months to 80 and the house was perfect. The owners have such style and everything so well thought through. We all enjoyed the hot tub and eating dinner on the upstairs decking. Beds were lovely and the master bed rooms were gorgeous. Orion holidays were organised and friendly when we called them. We will definitely be back and use them again.

Fantastic accommodation, great surroundings, ideal location for exploring the cotswolds & doing water sports on the surrounding lakes. We really enjoyed the outdoor pool & tennis courts. The staff were really helpful every step of the way leading up to & during our stay. They even let us check in 3hrs early. I would definitely recommend.

Our stay at Spring Lake N19, The Lake House was an unforgettable experience. We were 4 friends, all thrilled visiting Cotswolds. N19 House helped us to feel like home and spent an easy going and exciting week.

This was a family gathering of eight for a special birthday. The location was perfect on a beautiful lake with plenty of wildlife to enjoy and a cuckoo calling in the background.
The accommodation worked perfectly and had everything we needed for our stay including games, boules and tennis racquets. There were plenty of local activities and a good choice of places to eat and a large Tesco was only a short drive away. We are already planning our next visit.

We loved everything about this property/the area and would highly recommend. The property had the ‘wow’ factor and was well equipped with everything we needed. Lots to do in the surrounding area, with a lot of rentable equipment that can be used on the lake. The cottage is incredibly clean and comfortable. Kitchen is remarkably well stocked. Will definitely be back in the future

This is not our first time staying in this cottage – we keep coming back because it is just perfect!  Lower Mill is a fantastic place – it has something for everyone, be it relaxing with a drink whilst looking out of the lake, water sports / activities, country walks, swimming, spa and tennis. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area as well as one on site (Balihoo – which we love). We would highly recommend staying here!

My wife and I took our adult daughter away for a relaxing holiday and we weren’t disappointed. The house was delightful, bright and airy and very comfortable in every respect. The local area provided us with plenty of places to visit on trips out.
Orion Holidays made everything very smooth and staff were helpful and quick to respond to a query we raised, their information app was very helpful and we used their Discount Card at the Boathouse Restaurant and Waterside Cafe. All in all a very enjoyable holiday for us all.

We’ve had a fantastic stay at Mill Village. The cottage was delightful and has spectacular views of the lake from the decking at the back.

We visited for a family birthday. There were 5 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room. Everything was great. The location on site was perfect, the layout was great. Lots of little extras such as tennis equipment were a nice touch. Hot tub was great too, was checked daily while we were there. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Lakeside 19. The location is excellent looking out onto the lake, and is also very peaceful. The property was well maintained and we found it very comfortable. The Restaurant on the lake was very good. Thank you.

We had an extremely relaxing week on the Lower Mill Estate despite the changeable weather.  The lodge was an ideal base for walking through the nature reserve, cycling and swimming. All of the information we received from Orion Holidays was clear and useful. We will definitely book with them again.

A lovely seven days spent here. First time at the Lower Mill Estate and will 100% be back. The house was a great location due to the view and being so close to the pools and restaurant. The lake view is stunning to wake up to and equally to watch the sun set over. We had loads of towels (really nice quality ones too) and the kitchen had everything you’d need to cook with (rare in a rental even when advertised that way.) Orion customer service is fab. We left something small at the house which they found and are returning to us – they are there if you need them and very friendly. Thank you for a lovely family escape.

Incredible views, fabulous accommodation an amazing place to unwind I would live there tomorrow. The grounds are immaculate, there are lots of activities on your doorstep and plenty of dining options in the area. It’s the perfect place to be with your loved ones long walks with your dog then a tipple or two on the decking, we really loved it

Absolutely spot on all round. A lovely house in an ideal and peaceful spot on Isis lake. It’s clean, airy and has a lovely terrace to sit on overlooking the lake. A short walk to the playground, tennis courts and short cut to South Cerney… It has all the amenities you need plus fast wifi. TV is a little basic so would recommend taking a firestick to access Netflix/Amazon etc if you need that – but otherwise a really great stay.

We would wholly recommend and most likely to book again in the near future.

Had a lovely stay at Waters Edge, great location, everything close by. Enjoyed being able to walk to other lakes for kayaking and great meals at The Lakeside Brasserie and The Gateway.
Accommodation was outstanding just wish we had better weather! However it didn’t stop us using the jacuzzi in the rain, just had to wear a hat !!
Would love to return.

We stayed for NYE and had a lovely time, superb location, lovely views and lots of nature to explore nearby.  When we visited the swimming pool complex nearby was shut for renovation for 6 months, which was a shame as we’d hoped for some swimming to tire out the kids, however there are plenty of things to do nearby.

Very nice accommodation run by a very organised company. Would highly recommend and will be going back soon for a summer break.

Spacious house in tranquil location with lovely view over lake. The property has a well equipped kitchen and good amount of basic supplies such as tea, coffee, etc. Bath robes were supplied which is ideal after using the hot tub. The property is in an ideal location for exploring the local area with restaurants and leisure amenities within easy reach.

Wow, what an amazing house. The location, the view from the decking and the overall style of the house. Everything was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils- just missing egg cups! The bathrooms were all clean and tidy. But to end on a positive, the kids loved the lake and the shared pontoon was perfect for paddle boarding off and fishing.

We had a lovely stay on Summer Lake. The house was beautiful and so very well equipped. We had every we needed.

We stayed at the landings with our family including new baby granddaughter to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We had the best time. T
We used the lakeside brasserie for food and drinks cocktails are particularly nice there. My husband and son in law gave the water skiing a go which they enjoyed.
The landings is perfectly situated to walk to the activity lake and also south Cerney but you do t have to move when you have such a stunning view of the lake and lovely accommodation. Will definitely be returning an absolutely fabulous few days away.

We have stayed in many properties at Lower Mill and this is by far the best! So well equipped, beautifully decorated and conveniently located within the estate. My only note to people with children is that there is no barrier between the patio decking and the lake. If the French doors are open then the open water is literally metres away. It’s not a negative at all but just something to be aware of if travelling with small children. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

Spent a gorgeous tranquil weekend at Summer Lake, 32B Meadowlark. My highlight was kayaking into the sunset after dinner (we had no reason to venture out other than a walk to the lovely Eliot Arms pub in the afternoon.) It was perfect for a group of mums who wanted a restful weekend. And now I want to return with my family as I know they’ll love it too.

Excellent place to spend a weekend with family. Close proximity to pubs and the village of South Cerney – lots of safe trails for running/ walking/ cycling. The downstairs bedroom made life easy for one of our group who has significant mobility difficulties. Thanks for a great stay.

We booked for ourselves and our family. They were kind enough to open up the extra fourth bedroom to accommodate us .
We thought the layout was great! There are so many activities and we will be back.

Lovely stay at puffin lodge. It’s on a lake you can stand up paddle on which is great. You can’t do that on all lakes (eg Spring lake) so worth checking.

There is a small paddling beach on site and a doggy swim area. Absolutely the best way to spend quality time with loved ones. At home luxury available, including private chef and spa treatments.
The booking team are super helpful and there is a site app to help you make the best of your time.
Will definitely be back.

Perfect to switch off, stunning grounds, beautiful accommodation in a peaceful setting within a stones throw of great family activities, restaurants and tons of space for exploring by bike or walking with our dog.

This is our third visit to 66 Windrush Sunkissed Lodge and it was still as good as ever. Everything you would need for a week away is catered for. The south facing decking area is great to sit out on and the hot tub is an extra bonus. It is a great base to visit lots of beautiful places and nearby pubs.
Staff at Orion were again extremely helpful, making our stay that even more relaxing any enjoyable.

This was a multigenerational family get together to celebrate a big birthday. We were aged from 10 weeks to 77 years old! We all enjoyed this most comfortable house, which was probably the best equipped I have ever stayed in. Comfort and cleanliness were exceptional and the contact before and after from Orion was superb. We were familiar with the location but again enjoyed walks, swimming and cycling. Views of the lake from the house were great and we enjoyed our resident cuckoo and muntjac deer. A relaxing 5 nights and generally good weather added to our enjoyment . I would be more than happy to visit this property again.

Well where can I begin, this place is amazing. Everything you need is there. Property was so clean when we arrived. Lovely de king area to sunbathe on and you dont loose the sun until about 7.30 pm. Such a lovely decorated property.

Excellent location, views and Spa. Pools and spa was so clean including the outdoor pool, which is right by the Tennis Courts and the area where you can hire equipment. This pool you don’t have to pre-book. Loads of activities too keep you busy. Also you can drive out to other places, Lakes & Restaurants and its only about 10 minutes drive to the Beach Country Park, which is worth a visit, lots to do.

All the staff on site were amazing and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. If you have a Canoe or Kayak definitely worth taking so much opportunity.

We will definitely return all the family enjoyed the week.

A recent stay here was amazing! Although the weather played a crucial point. Orion holidays was very easy to book with and great communication.

The accommodation met with all our needs which was for four couples and each had on suit facilities which were a must. The house had everything we required, lovely views all round and added benefit of jacuzzi. We will be coming back and happy to book through Orion again. Thank you

Our villa was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Everything we needed for a fun family weekend away. The villa is peaceful and quiet – the hot tub is a lovely treat too. There are great places to visit just a short drive away. We had a great time – thank you.

The lodge was fabulous and the location superb. I came for a quiet break with a friend and we explored some of the local walks. Sitting watching the various birdlife on the lake was so peaceful.
