Holiday Itinerary for Water Lovers

This sample itinerary includes much of what our guests have loved doing over the years.

What you choose to do depends entirely on the make up of your group and which of the Cotswold lakes you are staying on. Several of the lakes have their own facilities and activities on-site exclusive only to the guests staying there.

Grab lunch and a cool beer on the waterside balcony at the Lakeside Brasserie on Spring Lake and watch the waterskiing and wakeboarding.

Head to the Gateway Information Centre and grab a coffee or snack at the Gateway Café next to the Cotswold Outdoors store. You can pick up the free ‘Leisure Map’ highlighting all the local tourist information & activities available for you plan and enjoy.

If you need any groceries or need to stock up, head off to the Cirencester Tesco Superstore only 5-10 minutes away. There is also a local convenience store and a Co-op in the village of South Cerney.

Or why not experience the superb selection of local produce at the Jesse Smith Farm Shop at Cirencester? Load up the fridge with BBQ food from the Butcher’s Block and delicatessen delights for an al fresco dinner on the decking for the evening.

Morning

Ringo Rides, Waterskiing or Wakeboarding at 4Lakes Watersports

Set on 4 picturesque beautiful lakes have go on a ringo or banana boat inflatable ride. Give waterskiing a go, or challenge yourself to try wakeboarding. Fun for all to enjoy, coffee and snacks available if just watching the water escapades.

Lunch

Relaxed lakeside dining at The Lodge at Lake 12 – Try their Salt Beef Bagel, or the ROX Giant Sausage Roll (which customers drive miles for!)

Afternoon

Go Paddleboarding or Kayaking at ROX (The Real Outdoor Xperience) at South Cerney

For guests seeking adventure on the water, ROX offers an exhilarating range of watersports and land based activities in the heart of Cotswold Water Park. Go canoeing, sailing, paddleboarding or head out as a family on the novel Katakanus. Bookable by the hour or half day.

Dinner

BBQ on the sundeck at your holiday cottage with a sundowner

Morning

Cotswold Beach & Country Park – Go mad on the AquaVenture inflatable assault course at the Cotswold Country Park & Beach followed by a picnic or BBQ relaxing and drying out by the water.

Lunch

Lakeside BBQ or picnic by the beach in the country park.

Afternoon

Take out a rowing boats, swan pedalo or electric boat at Cotswold Country Park or enjoy the afternoon having fun by the sandy beach and swimming lagoon

Dinner

It’s takeaway time – Have a drink at The Hideout overlooking the lake and grab a freshly cooked pizza from Pizzeria 720° at the Gateway Centre

Morning

Hire a self drive boat on the Thames at Lechlade from Cotswold Boat Hire – selection of day boats and cruisers for day or half-day hire.

Lunch

Riverside Picnic – Take a picnic with you and either pick a lovely riverside mooring or grab a lunch at the historic and beautiful Trout Inn at St. John’s Lock, the first lock on the River Thames in Faringdon near Lechlade.

Afternoon

Enjoy a riverside walk on the River Thames at Riverside Park at Lechlade.

Dinner

Treat yourself out to a pub dinner at the popular Old George Inn in South Cerney
