Lower Mill Estate in the Cotswold Lakes

Had a wonderful stay here for a 50th celebration. The property was immaculate and everything was in great condition. The rooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The Xbox and board games went down well with the youngest member of the family. The rooftop garden and hot tub were bliss, even in October! We love to paddle board so being able to access the lake from the property was a bonus. The site itself is kept well and the use of the spa was a welcome treat. Overall we had a great time in a great location and would definitely recommend!

We were pleasantly surprised by our accommodation being on a large complex. We had a house to sleep 6. 2 double en suite bedrooms and a smaller room with 2 single beds more suited to children. A fully equipped kitchen with washer dryer and a dishwasher & fridge/freezer. The lounge and dining area were comfortable. All in all, an ideal spot to either use the amenities on site or to use as a base to explore the Cotswolds and surrounding areas.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mill Village. The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed. The outside areas are very well maintained, and it is a lovely setting, close to the lake.

Very pleased with the accommodation and the service provided by Orion. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Lower Mill is a lovely location for nature lovers and dog owners.

We had previously stayed in the house next door, plus twice more in a different house. So, we’re obviously fans of the estate and facilities. 47 was perfect for us, 4 Adults and 2 x 6-year-olds. Plenty of space, especially important to have enough bathrooms, as we were two families sharing. Lots of kitchen equipment, big table, comfy sofa. Lots of fun things including the pumpkin trail, swimming, soft play, playground for the kids. Highly recommend, we will definitely return again.

This is my second time in one of Orion Holidays properties. I visited with my son and three very young grandchildren. I love the views from the houses overlooking a pond or lake where there is lots of wildlife to observe. I like the green spaces between houses, and it was very dog friendly when I brought my dog on the first visit. We had the indoor swimming pool included in our deal but unfortunately it was closed on the first day, so we only managed to use it once. We went to the outdoor pool instead which is heated to a good temperature despite being outdoors. My son and children hired bikes and were out and about most of the time on them. The Balihoo restaurant is very convenient for a meal, and we took advantage of the “Children eat free” deal. The houses are very comfortable and well equipped, and the hot tub was a bonus with the children.

A wonderful setting for a multi- generation family celebration. 26 Swans Down at Howells Mere was perfect for us- comfortable, spacious and very well-equipped. Would fully recommend!

We’ve stayed in Mill Village on several occasions. This was our first time at 53 The Mallards. Everything was spotless comfortable clean and cozy. Even though many of the houses have the same configuration, it felt like the interior design for the furnishings were beautifully thought through, down to the artwork on the walls and the lack of any clutter. There was a great collection of books to read as well as games for all in the cupboard. And of course great to be able to use the spa. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

We wanted a house that comfortably accommodated all of us and it certainly lived up to expectations. It was cosy and comfortable. It was equipped well with everything we needed for our stay. The position of the house on the lake was perfect for guests who love to fish or boat on the lake. The hot tub was wonderful as well. The swimming pools were clean and well maintained. Having a booking system meant that we were able to get a slot on every day we wanted one. Plus the tennis and multi function courts were a great asset. There was something for everyone.

It was absolutely perfect for a girls catchup, the property itself was exactly as we hoped plenty of space, it was so serene with the views of the lake and close to all amenities would definitely return.

As a family of four, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Minety Lake. The house was spotless with all equipment needed for a comfortable stay. We were very impressed with the air fryer!
The Lower Mill Estate is very well kept and a quiet holiday destination. We ordered a take away pizza from the pizza shack, and even though very expensive, the food was tasty! We also used the inside pool, which was very clean and well kept. During our stay, we visited Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold and Oxford, and all three destinations were very accessible from the estate. We particularly liked the roof set up as the hot tub was private in comparison to nearby properties. The communication by Orion holidays was excellent throughout and even though not used, there was a 24/7 phone line. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to others and we would have no hesitation to return here again.

Very enjoyable and relaxing stay with family… accommodation was clean and comfortable, providing everything we needed. Outdoor pool was great hit with grandson, warm and clean. The lakes and surrounding walks superb.

Accommodation was very clean and well equipped. The site had a decent restaurant and a fabulous spa. Going mid week and out of season meant we got the swimming pool to ourselves! Facilities like tennis courts were well maintained. We headed out to see some local towns and villages. Loved Cirencester – great shopping with many independent shops.
Orion were easy to work with so booking, arrival and departure were seamless.

We had the most wonderful time on the Orion holiday. The house was great and really adaptable for our family. There was just everything we needed. There are so many activities in the area. Cycling, canoeing, swimming in the three pools, wildlife.
We will be back soon!

Really great house for a family holiday. We were very happy here for our weekend with lots for people to do. The spa was great, lovely pool even though it was a bit busy. Lovely dog walks from the door and the hot tub was very popular with us.

6 adults of varying ages and 3 children, aged 6, 9 and 10 all had a fabulous holiday. The accommodation far better than average including nice little touches like spa robes. It was spacious, clean, modern and well designed. All enjoyed the paddle boarding and some of the party went wakeboarding, as well as the Aquaventure and sculpture park, which was excellent and very close. Some of us did bike rides and beautiful walks all within easy access. The youngest child loved the indoor and outdoor pool. Perfect situation for exploring the western Cotswolds. Hope to return

The house is equipped with all the facilities you will need for you and your family to have a perfect stay. The bedrooms are gorgeous and the beds are super comfortable so you are guaranteed a good nights sleep. The back garden has a hot tub and plenty of seating for at least 8. The site itself has a spa with 3 pools including an inside and outside pool. Tennis courts, playground, restaurant and a bar. This place really has it all.
The local supermarkets (Tesco and Aldi) are also only 12 minutes away so if you do want to do your own catering then this is easy to do.

Our 4th stay in an Orion hot tub lakeside property and they never ever disappoint! Green Haven offers a luxurious property in a perfect location, within a v private part of the Lower Mill Estate. Roof terrace has sun all day long, with plenty seating options and v private hot tub.
The house has everything and more you would need for a long stay..we were there 10 days and wish could have stayed longer. Air con in the bedrooms was an unexpected and v welcome bonus during a heatwave. The Lower Mill Estate is lovely, and has outdoor pool to myself on 2 separate occasions…bliss.
Plenty to do in the area ..recommend Bakers Arms in Somerford Keynes & Greyhound Inn in Siddington. Loads of great running trails and plenty kayaking or paddle boarding. Our boys also took part in nearby air rifling which they loved. We’ll definitely be back…highly recommended.

The beds were very comfortable and equipment excellent. We particularly liked the hot tub with the wonderful view over the lake, the ducks and Swans!

We stayed at this gorgeous house for a family weekend to celebrate my mums 75th birthday. We had family aged from 18 months to 80 and the house was perfect. The owners have such style and everything so well thought through. We all enjoyed the hot tub and eating dinner on the upstairs decking. Beds were lovely and the master bed rooms were gorgeous. Orion holidays were organised and friendly when we called them. We will definitely be back and use them again.

Fantastic accommodation, great surroundings, ideal location for exploring the cotswolds & doing water sports on the surrounding lakes. We really enjoyed the outdoor pool & tennis courts. The staff were really helpful every step of the way leading up to & during our stay. They even let us check in 3hrs early. I would definitely recommend.

We loved everything about this property/the area and would highly recommend. The property had the ‘wow’ factor and was well equipped with everything we needed. Lots to do in the surrounding area, with a lot of rentable equipment that can be used on the lake. The cottage is incredibly clean and comfortable. Kitchen is remarkably well stocked. Will definitely be back in the future

This is not our first time staying in this cottage – we keep coming back because it is just perfect!  Lower Mill is a fantastic place – it has something for everyone, be it relaxing with a drink whilst looking out of the lake, water sports / activities, country walks, swimming, spa and tennis. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area as well as one on site (Balihoo – which we love). We would highly recommend staying here!

We’ve had a fantastic stay at Mill Village. The cottage was delightful and has spectacular views of the lake from the decking at the back.

We visited for a family birthday. There were 5 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room. Everything was great. The location on site was perfect, the layout was great. Lots of little extras such as tennis equipment were a nice touch. Hot tub was great too, was checked daily while we were there. Would definitely recommend.

We had an extremely relaxing week on the Lower Mill Estate despite the changeable weather.  The lodge was an ideal base for walking through the nature reserve, cycling and swimming. All of the information we received from Orion Holidays was clear and useful. We will definitely book with them again.

Lovely location for our family weekend and we all thoroughly enjoyed joyed being together from across the country.

A lovely seven days spent here. First time at the Lower Mill Estate and will 100% be back. The house was a great location due to the view and being so close to the pools and restaurant. The lake view is stunning to wake up to and equally to watch the sun set over. We had loads of towels (really nice quality ones too) and the kitchen had everything you’d need to cook with (rare in a rental even when advertised that way.) Orion customer service is fab. We left something small at the house which they found and are returning to us – they are there if you need them and very friendly. Thank you for a lovely family escape.

Well where can I begin, this place is amazing. Everything you need is there. Property was so clean when we arrived. Lovely de king area to sunbathe on and you dont loose the sun until about 7.30 pm. Such a lovely decorated property.

Excellent location, views and Spa. Pools and spa was so clean including the outdoor pool, which is right by the Tennis Courts and the area where you can hire equipment. This pool you don’t have to pre-book. Loads of activities too keep you busy. Also you can drive out to other places, Lakes & Restaurants and its only about 10 minutes drive to the Beach Country Park, which is worth a visit, lots to do.

All the staff on site were amazing and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. If you have a Canoe or Kayak definitely worth taking so much opportunity.

We will definitely return all the family enjoyed the week.
