Family and Pet Friendly Holidays at Windrush Lake

We spent a long weekend here with a group of 8 and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The house was spacious enough that no one felt cramped, yet cozy enough to feel like we were all together. Bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped (we made a big breakfast each morning without running out of pans or plates), and there were plenty of areas to relax, both indoors and out.

The location was unbeatable — right on the edge of the lake, with stunning views from sunrise to sunset. We spent the days kayaking, paddle boarding and just sitting by the water with a coffee or a glass of wine. In the evenings, we gathered around the hot tub, grilled dinner, and watched the stars.

What really made it special was how peaceful and private it felt. Even with a large group, there was room for quiet moments — a morning walk along, reading on the deck, or just listening to the water.

If you’re looking for a place to unwind, laugh, and enjoy nature with a group of friends or family, this is the perfect spot. We’re already talking about coming back next year!

This is our third visit to 66 Windrush Sunkissed lodge and it was still as good as ever. Everything you would need for a week away is catered for. The south facing decking area is great to sit out on and the hot tub is an extra bonus. It is a great base to visit lots of beautiful places and nearby pubs. Staff at Orion were again extremely helpful, making our stay that even more relaxing any enjoyable.We hope to again return next year. Thanks to Orion and the owners of the Lodge.

A bunch of good friends from our village had a fabulous weekend away. We were all really impressed with how well equipped the house was. We had a fabulous relaxing break and enjoyed the local amenities and the hot tub. Orion’s customer service was excellent when the fridge/freezer stopped working and they sourced temporary alternatives.

Excellent location & beautiful accommodation. Had a celebration for my mother’s 80th birthday. Three generations stayed at the house and had a lovely time. House is suitable for 8 adults plus two teenager’s in bunk beds. Beautiful views over the lake & peaceful location. We were lucky that the weather was stunning for April too. So the hot tub was used!

From the moment we booked, the professionalism of Orion holidays was amazing. Just before we arrived we were told our holiday home was ready well in advance of the expected arrival time, which was fabulous.  My son in laws and grandson enjoyed the fishing on Isis lake. There was plenty to do for the young and not so young. There was lots of information in the house about walks in the area, which we did every day. The cleanliness and equipment in the house felt like home from home. We will definitely return very soon. Would most definitely recommend 😀😀

Amazing place to stay! Fantastically clean, wonderful hot tubs and views, comfortable accommodation lovely bedrooms and every kitchen utensil imaginable- wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Lovely stay at puffin lodge. It’s on a lake you can stand up paddle on which is great. You can’t do that on all lakes (eg Spring lake) so worth checking.

A recent stay here was amazing! Although the weather played a crucial point. Orion holidays was very easy to book with and great communication.

The accommodation met with all our needs which was for four couples and each had on suit facilities which were a must. The house had everything we required, lovely views all round and added benefit of jacuzzi. We will be coming back and happy to book through Orion again. Thank you
