Get your Swimwear On! Orion sponsor the Cotswold Big Swim Festival

Orion Holidays is proud to announce that we are sponsors of the Cotswold Big Swim 2022!

This family run event is organised by the Active Sports Events team who are also responsible for the award-winning Wootton Bassett Triathlon.  With a percentage of entry fees donated to charity, it’s a great event for both competitors and the wider community, and well worth a visit if you are in the area on 10th September.

What is the Cotswold Big Swim Festival?

The Cotswold Big Swim is an open water swimming event series that hopes to showcase open water swimming, and inspire people of all ages to adopt a healthy lifestyle.  Plus it’s also a lot of fun!

This year’s events consist of five long distance open water swims.  The races cover 750m, 1.9km, 3.8km, 5km and 10 km with prizes awarded to men and women finishing in the top three for each race.

Don’t worry, if it all sounds a bit much, the events are a great day out with plenty to enjoy for spectators!  Olympian Cassie Pattern will be providing exciting commentary on the races, and there will be live music, trade stands and plenty of delicious food options available at Lake 32 Cafe.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring this great event series.  We love to see people enjoying our amazing surroundings here at the Cotswold Waterpark and this family run event is not only great fun but helping to support the wider community, something very important to the team at Orion Holidays.”

 Mark Thomas, Orion Holidays.

Big Swim in June 2022

The event in June was a great success, selling out very quickly and attracting a large number of supporters to cheer on the swimmers and enjoy the atmosphere at the lake.

Check out these awesome photos from June of the competitors sporting their Orion Holidays hats!

Come and Join in the Fun!

The next Cotswold Big Swim festival will be held at the Lake 32 Outdoor Centre on 10th September 2022.  It’s an early start with the races kicking off from 8:00am.  Whilst there are several car parks available, we would suggest travelling down early as its likely to get busy.
